Flor Garduño es ampliamente reconocida por su trabajo en retrato y figura humana, pero dentro de su práctica fotográfica existe también una línea constante, aunque menos difundida, dedicada al still life o bodegón fotográfico.

En estas series, Garduño trabaja con objetos, animales y elementos naturales aislados del contexto narrativo.
No se trata de escenas construidas ni de composiciones decorativas, sino de estudios formales donde la atención se centra en la forma, la textura, el peso visual y la relación entre los elementos dentro del encuadre.
El still life en su obra aparece documentado en distintas publicaciones y proyectos, en ocasiones bajo el nombre de « Silent Natures », una categoría que agrupa naturalezas muertas realizadas en blanco y negro. Estas imágenes no funcionan como ilustraciones simbólicas cerradas, sino como ejercicios de observación: el objeto es fotografiado por lo que es, no por lo que representa.
Un dato relevante y poco mencionado, es que Garduño ha señalado en entrevistas que trabaja exclusivamente con luz natural, incluso en este tipo de composiciones.
Esto implica que sus bodegones no se construyen en estudio tradicional, sino en dialogo directo con el entorno y el tiempo disponible de la luz.

Durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, les deux hommes se rencontrèrent alors qu’ils étaient emprisonnés dans un stalag prussien, nouant une amitié durable fondée sur leur passion commune pour l’aménagement intérieur.

I have a deep affection for Sottsass’ work. He was the first designer to awaken my curiosity, opening the door to a whole world of creativity and exploration I thought wasn’t for me. I still remember what I felt the first time I saw his Tahiti lamp in a museum: surprise, a huge smile, a sense of wonder. I fell in love with his work and the Memphis movement in its entirety-my number one inspiration for launching my first curated shop @coolmachinestore in 2014. My story in the world of design began with his work, an emotion that I still cherish forever.
Mirror spotted in the sublime guesthouse @_maison_lezard that I hope to visit one day discovered yesterday in stories thanks to the great eye of @_sightunseen_

When I first encountered ceramics, I knew nothing about the medium. And yet, I was instantly drawn to its unpredictability-an element I have come to deeply cherish. It offers a kind of freedom, an organic spontaneity that allows me to connect directly with the material. For me, creating a piece is akin to giving birth to a new life, to making matter resonate with presence and vitality.
I have discovered in ceramics, as well as in other materials such as plaster, powerful tools for experimentation—mediums that allow me to explore and reinterpret the very concept of sculpture. Through bas-reliefs and surface interventions, I transform ordinary objects into variable, living works of art that defy fixed definition.
My fascination with earth goes beyond its physicality-it extends to the latent energy held within each fragment, each particle, all of which carry an ancestral memory. My relationship with matter unfolds as a silent, almost sacred dialogue between my creative intuition and the raw substance. From this symbiosis emerge new forms, structures that resonate with the collective memory.
